1. Spend Little Time To Research
Know before you go. Researching beforehand would make everything easier and you are less likely to fall to trouble. Google the Places you plan to visit, weather conditions, political conflicts, reviews and experiences of other travellers can give you a rough picture of what you are going to experience, also make sure to do a small study on the scams that are going on so that you know before it happens.
2. Keep Installed Few International Travel Apps
When you are travelling from your home country to whatever destination it is highly recommended to have a few popular travel apps installed and configured on your mobile phone. 3. Get Yourself a Travel Insurance
Don’t hesitate to invest in travel insurance, they are covering you from any travelling risk including stolen luggage, cancellations and most importantly unexpected medical costs that you may be expected to settle in a foreign land.
Always share your trip information with your close friend or family when you are away, consider this as a safety protocol.
4. Doctor and Medication
a. Meet a Doctor
See your family doctor and check with immunization vaccines before you leave because when you travel there are many things that can go wrong and your health is one of the critical things in that list so it is always a wise idea to be prepared.
we suggest you meet your doctor at least 4 weeks before if possible, also make sure to communicate with your doctor following things
- The location you are travelling
- The date you are leaving
- Duration of your trip
- What are the activities you might do during the trip
- Some information like your allergies, medical history, vaccine history, age etc.
b. Be Prepared
Being secure and safe is very important probably way more important than the trip, the following may apply to you based on your current health condition.
- Pack a small medical kit
- Make sure to take more than enough medicine as in some countries the regular medicine you buy daily may need a valid prescription or hard to find
- Keep the Prescriptions with you
5. Credit Cards
There were many times in which my bank blocked my credit card when I’m in a different country so it is always a good idea to bring more than one credit card as well as inform the bank about your trip early
- Inform the credit card company prior to travelling
- Bring more than one credit card
- Always have some cash with you
- Keep aware of foreign transaction fees, some credit cards have foreign transaction fees but most of the time you can work with the credit card company prior to travelling so that you don’t get these fees.
- Know your card, there are some cards with special benefits and protection especially credit cards that are designed for travellers, for example, some offers protection against luggage lost, late flights, cancellation of trips plus some insurance coverage read about your card and try to get a credit card specially designed for travellers.
6. Visa
Research the visa requirements of all the countries that you are planning to visit before you actually leave because Visa on arrival can be different whether you arrive by air or by land. Check with the embassy of your home country if you know that you’re going longer than a month that you might be wanting extended visa.

7. Planned Entry and Exit
Some airlines can be really strict with this one. They require that you have a flight into the country as well as out of the country. You can try purchasing only a one-way ticket, people do this all the time but you do run the risk of them making you purchase and exit ticket on the spot which can sometimes be more expensive.
8. Clear Cache
If you’ve been searching for flights but haven’t bought it clear your internet cache before you make any purchases. This can slash the cost of flights a significant amount sometimes.
9. Make Copies
Scanned copies of your passport. ID s and important documents and keep a copy with you all times. Also, email a copy to yourself.
10. BackUp
Backup everything that’s on your computer, tablet or phone that you are planning to carry with you before you go on to an external hard drive. That way if you lose anything or if it gets stolen you have originals information stored safely somewhere.
11. Pack
Seriously, under pack. Pick carefully your essentials including clothes, cosmetics, and electronics. Everything you are going to be needed is there, yes in Asia also and it is a lot cheaper. Include a sweater because it can be really cold in the night time also in air-conditioned buses and plains. Take a microfiber towel which is lightweight and quick to dry. Pair of earplugs is a must when you are in a noisy hotel room or you want to relax undisturbed
Definitely take a good battery bank so you can change things when you are on the way it is a lifesaver.
